Kihl and colleagues found community sports organizations in Australia, Germany, Canada, and the U.S. that had experienced fraud significantly lower levels of team trust overall.

Lisa A. Kihl, PhD, professor in the School of Kinesiology and director of the Global Institute for Responsible Sport Organizations (GIRSO), and her international colleagues published an article titled "Linking board gender composition with fraud in community sport organizations: diversity is prevention" in Managing Sport and Leisure. Kihl and colleagues found community sports organizations in Australia, Germany, Canada, and the U.S. that had experienced fraud significantly lower levels of team trust overall. Board gender diversity was associated with more fraud control measures, but also had lower levels of trustworthiness.
