HSC Lab researchers publish with colleagues in computer science on the use of visual gamified rehabilitation exercise
Naveen Elangovan, PhD, a research scientist in theHuman Sensorimotor Control Laboratory (HSCL), and Jürgen Konczak, PhD, professor in the School of Kinesiology and director of HSCL, are coauthors on an article published in the journal Frontiers Virtual Reality, titled "Visual assistance may impede sensorimotor learning during gamified rehabilitation exercises." This project was done in collaboration with PhD student Yuxuan Huang and professor Victoria Interrante, both from the Department of Computer Science. The study investigated what type of visual feedabck may enhance motor learning in a robotic learning environment that is geared towards rehabilitation of stroke survivors.
