Westerberg publishes article in International Journal of Sports Medicine

Hannah Westerberg, MEd, doctoral student in the School of Kinesiology, is the lead author of an article titled “Muscle-to-bone and soft tissue-to-bone ratios in track and field athletes” published in the International Journal of Sports Medicine. The study found significant differences in total and regional measures of the muscle-to-bone and soft tissue-to-bone ratios across event groups for both male and female collegiate track and field athletes. These results may indicate event-specific adaptations impacting the balance between soft tissue and bone in collegiate track and field athletes. Don Dengel, PhD, professor in the School of Kinesiology and director of the Laboratory of Integrative Human Physiology, was a co-author on this article.
