School of Kinesiology hosts Kristin L. Popp for seminar
The School of Kinesiology hosted the second event of their seminar series on November 6, 2024. This seminar was presented by Kristin L. Popp, PhD, from Harvard University. Popp's talk was titled "Bone Stress Injuries in Soldiers and Athletes: Sex-Specific Considerations." In the talk, Popp discussed how bone stress injuries affect male and female athletes and soldiers differently, with distinct patterns in injury rates and fracture locations. The differences between groups, key factors that influence the injury patterns, and strategies for optimizing prevention and rehabilitation were also highlighted.
Popp received her kinesiology MA and PhD from the School of Kinesiology. Many faculty, staff, and students supported the School's alumna at this event.
