My research is focused on studying the effect of the motivational climate on youth athletes; specifically, I am interested in exploring if there are mediating effects of resiliency with athletes from underserved communities within the climate on athletes’ responses. My primary research aim is to understand if resilience in athletes from underserved communities protects against more adverse outcomes (i.e., cognitive and somatic anxieties, and lowered self-efficacy). Additionally, I am interested in delving into sex differences in psychophysiological responses to the motivational climate, in performance-based settings, which may bridge current gaps in the current literature.
