Doctoral students Babafemi Obideyi and Erjia (Lucy) Guan were co-lead authors on an article appearing in the journal, Sport Management Review. The article was co-authored by Mitchell McSweeney, PhD, assistant professor, as well as Masters alumni Hokeun Choi. All authors are of the School of Kinesiology. The article, "'We are sure as hell making a political statement': The cultivation of safe space at and through The V3 Center in North Minneapolis," was produced from a study that explores the strategies employed for construction of safe spaces at and through a community health and wellness organization—The V3 Center—in North Minneapolis, to enhance the feelings of safety for historically marginalized populations.
