Kevin Gu, undergraduate in SMIT Lab, receives UROP award

Kevin Gu, an esports management minor student in the School of Kinesiology's Sport Marketing and Innovative Technology (SMIT) Laboratory, received Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) award funding for the 2026 spring semester. Gu will be working on a research project titled “Game-based learning and policy mapping in NIL: Supporting athlete branding and well-being,” under the supervision of the lab’s director Bo Yu, PhD, an assistant professor of sport management in the school.
