HSC Lab publishes results on new treatment for chronic cough
Their results showcased 2 weeks of daily treatment use improved quality of life related to chronic coughing.
Members of the Human Sensorimotor Control (HSC) Laboratory, directed by Juergen Konczak, PhD, professor in the School of Kinesiology, collaborated with Stephanie Misono, MD, MPH, to publish about a new chronic cough treatment in Laryngoscope. HSC members and Misono found vibro-tactile stimulation of the larynx can reduce symptoms in people with chronic cough using a vibration collar developed in the lab. Their results showed that 2-week daily use of the treatment improved quality of life related to chronic cough.
