Alex Garn, PhD, director of the School of Kinesiology and full professor of sport and exercise psychology, has published a position paper in Kinesiology Review. In "Bringing Graduate Students to Campus and Supporting Their Success: Promoting Enrollment and Retention Through Understanding Student Motives," Professor Garn and his colleagues argue that institutions can improve graduate recruitment and retention by prioritizing an understanding of specific student motivations to implement flexible, affordable programs and robust support structures that align with diverse professional goals.
