Don Dengel, PhD, professor in the School of Kinesiology and director of the Laboratory of Integrative Human Physiology, is the author of a blog post titled “Comparing The Muscle-to-Bone Ratio in College and NFL Football Players.” This blog examined the muscle-to-bone ratio (MBR) determined using dual X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) in NCAA Division I College Football players and National Football League (NFL) players. The authors noted significant differences in total as well as regional MBRs between NCAA Division I College Football players and National Football League players. An upcoming blog will look at the total as well regional MBRs by position in these two groups.
