Greising and colleagues publish in AJP-Cell Physiology

Dr. Greising contributed to research indicating a protective effect of 17β-estradiol after muscle injury to accelerate recovery of mitochondrial redox balance.

Sarah M. Greising, PhD, associate professor of exercise physiology in the School of Kinesiology and Director of the Skeletal Muscle Plasticity and Regeneration Laboratory (SMPRL), and colleagues contributed to a manuscript published in the American Journal of Physiology-Cell Physiology titled, “17β-estradiol mitigates ovariectomy-induced defects in mitochondrial bioenergetics and redox balance after VML injury in female mice.” The collaborative work was done with Jarrod Call, PhD, and his research team at the University of Georgia.
