Craighead discusses outdoor exercise and air quality with MPR
"When the air quality is poor, breathing becomes a little more difficult, and you can expect your performance in those sorts of sports to slip. You’re not going to be able to run as fast or as far as you would be able to on a day when the air quality was good, for example."
Daniel Craighead

Daniel Craighead, PhD, assistant professor in the School of Kinesiology and director of the Integrative Cardiovascular and Exercise Physiology Laboratory (ICEPL), spoke with MPR in a segment titled "Minnesota air quality alert: Is outdoor exercise safe? Here’s how to tell." Craighead discussed the effects of poor air quality on exercise, as well as tips to continue to be active during these periods.
