Students return from Kenya study abroad program, led by Barr-Anderson
Daheia Barr-Anderson, PhD, associate professor in the School of Kinesiology and director of the Behavioral Physical Activity Laboratory (BPAL), led the study abroad program "Empowering Youth through Sport" in Kenya during May 2024. The course focused on the importance of sports within Kenyan culture, along with the long-term opportunities and empowerment that physical activity provides for youth. Students were able to connect with locals and community organizations in Nairobi, the coast of Mombasa, the rural town of Iten, and much more.
