Tamara de Paula Mancilha, MSc, doctoral student in exercise physiology at the School of Kinesiology, is the lead author of an article entitled "Feasibility of a New Dietary Recall Method: Augmenting Interviewer-Administered 24-Hour Dietary Recalls with Photo-Based Mobile Food Records” that was recently published in the journal Dietetics. The study evaluated the feasibility and preliminary measurement characteristics of pairing interviewer-administered 24-hour dietary recalls with a mobile, photo-based food recording app. While the protocol, with a 100% completion rate, proved highly feasible and acceptable to participants, the authors reported that the addition of the mobile records did not improve the completeness of dietary intake capture.
