Lu, doctoral students, and colleagues publish study on gender equity in Esports
Dr. Landy Lu, her doctoral students, and colleagues have published in the Journal of Electronic Gaming and Esports.
Landy Lu, PhD, assistant professor of sport management in the School of Kinesiology, along with her doctoral students and colleagues, published an article titled “Promoting Gender Equity and Inclusion in Collegiate Varsity Esports Programs” in the Journal of Electronic Gaming and Esports. The co-authors include School of Kinesiology doctoral students Promise Iheanacho (doctoral candidate in sport management) and Joung Hwa Son (doctoral candidate in sport management), Dunja Antunovic, PhD, associate professor of sport sociology, and Guangzhou Chen, PhD, assistant professor at the University of New Hampshire. The study identifies organizational-level strategies that are currently in place to advance gender equality in collegiate varsity esports programs. This study was supported by the Janet B. Parks NASSM Research Grant.
