Lu coauthors article in Journal of Issues in Intercollegiate Athletics

Dr. Landy Lu has authored "From Field to Marketplace: NIL, Identity Dynamics, and Well-Being Among College Athletes” in the Journal of Issues in Intercollegiate Athletics.

Landy Lu, PhD, assistant professor of sport management in the School of Kinesiology, has coauthored an article titled, “From Field to Marketplace: NIL, Identity Dynamics, and Well-Being Among College Athletes” in the Journal of Issues in Intercollegiate Athletics. The study examines how engagement with name, image, and likeness (NIL) opportunities can both intensify athletes’ sense of identity and introduce new pressures. It also identifies the conditions under which NIL experiences may enhance student-athlete well-being. Coauthors include Kathryn Heinze, PhD, Hairuo Ren, and Sara Soderstrom, PhD, of the University of Michigan.
