Kinesiology alumni win awards from UMAA

Two School of Kinesiology alumni were honored by the University of Minnesota Alumni Association on October 24, 2024. 

Kelsey Joson (BS ’13) is the recipient of the 2024 Entrepreneurial Spirit Award. Since her time at the U of M, Joson has focused on equality and representation in the Twin Cities. She founded InControl-MN in 2019, a service that supports adults with disabiliteis. Joson also co-founded a networking luncheon for the Twin Cities' business community called Strengthen the Strong. 

Randy Griffith (MEd '84) is the recipient of the 2024 Advocate of the Year Award. Griffith earned his master's in physical education from the School of Kinesiology and spent the next 27 years as a teacher. In retirement, Griffith became an active member of the UMN Advocates and MN 201. His involvement and connections with legislatures has helped support the University's mission.
