Garn elected to American Kinesiology Association Board of Directors
The Board is responsible for setting strategic direction, supporting academic and professional development initiatives, and ensuring the organization remains responsive to the evolving needs of kinesiology units across the country.
Alex Garn, PhD, professor and director of the School of Kinesiology, was elected to the American Kinesiology Association (AKA) Board of Directors from January 2026-January 2029. The AKA Board of Directors plays a vital leadership role in guiding the organizational mission to promote and enhance kinesiology as a unified field of study. The Board is responsible for setting strategic direction, supporting academic and professional development initiatives, and ensuring the organization remains responsive to the evolving needs of kinesiology units across the country.
