Master's student Eri Lee presented a part of her thesis project, "Sporting Dreams on the National Team," at the Association for Asian American Studies annual conference in Honolulu, Hawai'i. Lee's work was included on a panel titled "New Directions in Critical Asian American Youth Studies," which focused on the potential of engaging youth in critical scholarship by understanding them as political agents who have the power to shape the socio-cultural spaces around them. Lee's thesis focuses on the experiences of Asian diasporic women who represent the US National Team in synchronized skating and how they navigate the racialized, gendered, and classed context of figure skating.
