Donald Dengel, PhD, professor of exercise physiology in the School of Kinesiology and director of the Laboratory of Integrative Human Physiology (LIHP), is the author of a recent blog post, entitled "Muscle-To-Bone Ratio In Female College Track And Field Athletes." Significant differences in MBR between female event groups suggests that bone health in female track and field athletes is strongly influenced by how training stresses are distributed across muscle and bone.
