Antunovic presents at AEJMC conference
Dr. Dunja Antunovic, associate professor of sport sociology, presented research on the coverage of women's sports at the 2026 AEJMC conference.
Dunja Antunovic, PhD, associate professor of sport sociology in the School of Kinesiology and director of the Media Analysis Research in International Sport (MARIS) group, presented a paper titled "'The easiest thing to cut': Routine forces of women's sports coverage in local media" at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) 109th Annual Conference in New Orleans, August 4-8, 2026. The study examined how journalists adapt to the expansion of women's sports leagues in the Bay Area. Steve Bien-Aimé, PhD (University of Kansas), is a co-author on the paper. The larger project is funded by a School of Kinesiology Faculty Pilot Grant.
