School of Kinesiology students receive awards from the American Kinesiology Association
The School of Kinesiology is proud to celebrate our students who received various awards from the American Kinesiology Association (AKA). These awards are well-deserved and showcase our students’ commitment to the field and their potential.
These AKA awards intend to recognize and promote academic excellence and the field of kinesiology while furthering the professional competence of academically accomplished students. The School's award winners include:
- AKA Local Undergraduate Scholar Award - University of Minnesota: Jordan Fasching
- AKA National Master’s Scholar Award: Samantha Brooks
- AKA Local Graduate Student Writing Award - University of Minnesota: Angela Bruzina
- Bruzina’s publication that is affiliated with this award is titled "Limitations in metabolic plasticity after traumatic injury are only moderately exacerbated by physical activity restriction" published in npj Metabolic Health and Disease.
